Tipping Valves
Valves for tipper bodies, skip loaders and hook lifts, with an integral relief that caps the pressure reaching the ram and actuation chosen to suit what the chassis can already supply.
Features
- Control type is chosen to suit the cab: a cable pull for an older chassis, a pneumatic switch where an air supply already exists, electric where the body has its own controller.
- Air-operated versions need a dry supply; water carried over from the compressor is the usual cause of sticking control.
- Body-down interlocks and pressure switches keep the body from being driven with the tip raised, and are specified with the valve rather than added later.
- Integral relief limits the pressure applied to a ram that may be older than the valve.
- Flow capacity is matched to the take-off pump so the body does not drop faster than the valve can meter on the way down.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nominal flow | 60 - 150 | l/min | matched to the take-off pump, not to the body size |
| Relief setting | 180 - 250 | bar | caps the pressure applied to the tipping ram |
| Control type | pneumatic, 6 bar pilot | has to match what the chassis can supply | |
| Ports | inlet G 3/4, ram G 1/2 | pipe runs under a chassis are awkward to change afterwards | |
| Body-down signal | switch, normally open | feeds the cab warning and any drive interlock |
