Asphalt Mixing Plants

Batch Asphalt Mixing Plants

Tower plants that dry aggregate, screen it into hot bins, weigh each fraction and mix a discrete batch. The usual choice where several recipes run in a day and every batch has to be recorded.

Features

  • A hot screen and hot bin arrangement lets one dryer feed several recipes without re-running the aggregate.
  • Individual weighing of aggregate, filler, bitumen and additive gives a batch record per mix.
  • Twin-shaft paddle mixers reach a homogeneous mix in a short dry and wet mixing time, which is what allows short batch cycles.
  • Fibre and additive dosing can be added as a separate weighed line for stone mastic and modified mixes.
  • Recipe changes cost one batch of transition rather than a plant shutdown.

Specifications

Figure Typical range Unit Why it matters
Rated output 120 - 400 t/h Sized to the paving output the plant has to keep supplied.
Mixer batch size 2 000 - 5 000 kg Sets cycle time and minimum economic production run.
Number of hot bins 4 - 6 Decides how many fractions can be proportioned without re-screening.
