Telescopic Container Spreader
The attachment that actually holds the box: a telescoping frame with twistlocks, side-shift and levelling, fitted to a reach stacker, container handler or heavy forklift. Specified to the host machine's interface and to the container lengths in the yard.
Features
- Twistlocks latch into the corner castings and must confirm locked before a lift is allowed, and that confirmation circuit is the safety-critical part.
- Telescoping range has to cover every box length in the yard. A 20 to 40 ft spreader will not take a 45 ft box.
- Side-shift and levelling correct for a box that is not square to the machine, which on a working stack is most of them.
- Spreader dead weight comes off the machine's capacity, so a heavier spreader lowers what the machine can lift.
- The mounting interface and hydraulic services must match the host machine; a spreader is not portable between machine classes without engineering.
