Coil and Pipe Handling Forklift
Heavy forklift configured with a coil ram, pipe clamp or slab fork instead of standard forks, for steel service centres, pipe yards and quays handling break bulk.
Features
- A coil ram places the load well forward of the carriage, so the derated chart rather than the plate figure governs every lift.
- Clamp force has to be set for the product: too little and the load slips, too much and thin-wall pipe or a coil edge deforms.
- Rotating rams and clamps add a hydraulic service and a rotary union at the rotator, and both become inspection points.
- Changing attachment mid-shift needs quick couplers and somewhere to park the attachment that does not block the aisle.
