Diamond Grinding Wheels and Cups
Diamond-impregnated cups and wheels in spherical, ballistic and conical profiles, plus spindles and collets. The abrasive has to match the button shape being restored.
Features
- Profile shape has to match the button shape; a spherical cup used on a ballistic button destroys the profile.
- Grit size trades stock removal rate against surface finish on the carbide.
- Diamond concentration and bond hardness are matched to how much steel is being removed alongside the carbide.
- Wheel and cup wear is measured against a discard profile, because a worn cup regrinds a wrong shape.
- Spindles and collets are consumables in their own right and a worn collet causes wheel run-out and cracked buttons.
