Heavy Forklift 16 – 33 t
Trucks from roughly 16 t to 33 t for slab, coil, pipe and laden container work in ports, steel plants and heavy industry. These are planned installations: access, slab strength and the attachment interface are settled before the order.
Features
- The spreader, coil ram or pipe clamp dominates the specification. The truck is effectively built around the attachment.
- Anti-rollover and load-moment monitoring, reversing camera and automatic reverse braking are expected in this class and should be listed rather than assumed.
- Engine-bay fire suppression is normal practice where the truck works near hot metal or in a confined yard.
- Transport needs a low loader and usually an abnormal-load route, with mast and counterweight often travelling separately.
- Tyres are a major running cost here; ground surface and turning technique change tyre life by a factor of two.
