Pumps & Motors

Transport and Tipping Hydraulics

Power take-off driven pumps, tipping pumps and the mounting kits for tippers, skip loaders, walking-floor trailers, hook lifts and compaction bodies. Driven off the gearbox, not an electric motor.

Features

  • Pump flow follows engine speed through the power take-off ratio, so tipping time is set by the gearbox as much as by the pump.
  • Bi-directional pumps allow powered lowering on walking-floor and hook-lift bodies; single-direction pumps rely on gravity return.
  • Pump, mounting flange, drive shaft and reservoir are usually specified as one kit because the available space under the chassis dictates all four.
  • Reservoir position and breather height decide whether the system draws air at full tip angle, which is a common complaint on retrofitted bodies.
  • Steel and aluminium reservoirs of the same volume behave differently for heat rejection, which matters on continuous compaction work.

Specifications

Figure Typical range Unit Why it matters
Displacement 34 - 108 cm3/rev with take-off ratio it sets tipping time
Take-off drive ratio 1.0 : 1 determines pump speed and therefore flow at idle
Maximum pressure 250 - 350 bar matched to the body's ram and relief setting
Rotation bi-directional powered lowering needs it; gravity return does not
Reservoir volume 40 - 200 l must exceed the ram's swept volume with reserve
