Truck Mixers
Drum mixers on a road chassis that carry and agitate concrete between plant and site. Drum volume, chassis axle configuration and discharge arrangement are the specification.
Features
- Nominal concrete volume is well below geometric drum volume; comparisons made on drum size rather than nominal load are misleading.
- Chassis axle count follows payload: a larger drum needs another axle before it needs more engine power.
- Drum rotation direction sets charge or discharge; discharge rate depends on drum speed and mix workability together.
- Water tanks are for washing out, not for adjusting the mix on the road - adding water on site changes the concrete that was ordered.
- Extension chutes, belt conveyors and mixer-mounted pumps each extend placing reach without a separate pump on small pours.
