Piling and Foundation Equipment
Casing Oscillators and Rotators
Hydraulic units that oscillate or fully rotate temporary casing into the ground, used for piling through obstructions, old foundations and unstable strata. Torque and casing diameter are the whole specification.
Features
- Casing torque, not rig torque, is what advances the casing through an obstruction.
- Oscillators swing the casing through a limited arc; full-circle rotators turn it continuously and suit longer casing strings.
- Casing diameter range has to match the pile schedule, and casing joints have to be rated for the applied torque.
- Cutting shoes and teeth on the casing toe are the consumables, and the choice follows what is being cut through.
- Casing extraction load is often the governing figure, so winch and jacking capacity must be checked with the torque.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casing diameter range | 620 - 3 000 | mm | Has to cover the pile diameters on the schedule. |
| Unit type | oscillator / full rotator | Full rotation suits long casing strings and deeper work. |
