Features

Steering boxes are supplied new or as remanufactured exchange, and input and output shaft splines must match the column and drop arm.
Steering pump flow and relief pressure are part of the specification, because a substitute with different flow changes steering effort.
Play is measured at the wheel and traced through the chain before parts are ordered, as the box is often blamed for worn joints.
Steering oil is flushed and the filter changed after a pump failure, since debris will destroy the replacement pump.
Column and shaft joints are safety-critical and are replaced rather than repaired.
