Long-Haul Tractor Unit
Sleeper-cab tractor unit for trunking and international work, specified around fuel burn per tonne-kilometre rather than peak output. Ordered with the fifth-wheel height and coupling that suit the existing trailer fleet.
Features
- High-roof cab with two berths, interior standing height and a night-time climate supply that runs without the engine.
- Long-ratio rear axle and a predictive cruise strategy that reads gradient data to hold momentum instead of downshifting at every crest.
- Air deflectors, chassis fairings and a roof spoiler matched to trailer height, since a mismatch of more than a few centimetres undoes the aerodynamic gain.
- Dual fuel tanks with a combined capacity sized for the operator's refuelling network rather than the maximum the frame will take.
- Disc brakes on all axles with an electronic braking system, plus a retarder or engine brake for descent work on alpine routes.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|

| Gross combination weight | 40 000 - 44 000 | kg | Sets the legal ceiling for the loaded combination |
| Rated power | 295 - 400 | kW | Decides sustained speed on long gradients |
| Fifth-wheel height, laden | 950 - 1 150 | mm | Must match trailer kingpin height or the deck sits out of level |
| Fuel capacity, total | 600 - 1 400 | l | Sets range between the operator's own fuelling points |
| Kerb weight | 7 200 - 9 000 | kg | Directly reduces the payload the combination can carry |
