Articulated Dump Trucks
Six-wheel-drive articulated haulers for bulk earthmoving over unprepared haul roads. They carry far more than a site dumper and cope with ground that would stop a rigid truck.
Features
- Permanent six-wheel drive with a free-oscillating hitch keeps all wheels loaded over crests and ruts, which is the source of the traction advantage.
- Body volumes are quoted struck and heaped at a stated angle of repose; the heaped figure applies only to free-flowing material.
- Retarders and engine or exhaust braking are what control a laden descent without cooking the service brakes.
- Tailgates, body liners and exhaust-heated bodies are specified according to whether the load is sticky clay, blasted rock or planings.
- Payload monitoring on the suspension or hitch gives load records per cycle and prevents chronic overloading of the driveline.
