Duty-Cycle Crawler Cranes
Reinforced crawler cranes with free-fall winches for dragline, clamshell grab, dynamic compaction and diaphragm wall work. They are built for continuous cyclic loading rather than for lifting.
Features
- Free-fall winches with band brakes allow a grab or weight to be dropped under control, which a lifting crane cannot do.
- Structures, slew bearings and winch drives are rated for continuous cyclic duty rather than for occasional lifts.
- Line pull and line speed, not hook capacity, are the figures that govern output in grab and dragline work.
- Winch cooling and rope capacity determine how long a duty cycle can be sustained without a break.
- Machines configured for duty-cycle work should not be used for plain lifting unless a valid lifting chart is supplied for that configuration.
