Fixed-base compound light tower
A mast on a ballasted or bolted base, installed in a compound, car park or storage yard for the duration of a project. The cheapest permanent-feeling lighting that is still demountable.
Features
- A bolted or ballasted base removes the trailer entirely, which cuts cost and stops the unit being towed away.
- Ballast mass is calculated against the mast height and the local wind exposure, and guessing it is how masts come down.
- Cable is normally run in a duct or on a catenary rather than trailed, because the unit will be there for months.
- Masts are available with a lowering hinge so heads can be serviced from the ground rather than from a platform.
- Because it stays put, it is worth specifying a timer or photocell rather than leaving it switched manually.
