Open-skid generating set for plant rooms
The bare engine, alternator, base frame and control panel, with no canopy, for installation inside a building that provides the acoustic and weather enclosure. The cheapest route to installed capacity when the plant room already exists.
Features
- With no canopy, the building has to supply the attenuation, and the room's own ventilation openings become the acoustic weak point.
- Combustion and cooling air are drawn from the room, so louvre free area in m² is calculated, not estimated.
- Exhaust is site-fabricated with flexible bellows at the engine and support that does not load the manifold.
- The set has to be accessible on all sides for service, which usually dictates a larger room than the machine footprint suggests.
- Anti-vibration mounts and a flexible fuel connection stop the set walking its own pipework apart.
- Because there is no enclosure, hot surfaces and rotating parts need guarding specified as part of the installation.
