Rock Support and Bolting Systems
Resin-Grouted Rebar Bolts
Deformed steel bar installed with resin cartridges to bond the bolt along its full length. Higher ultimate capacity than a friction bolt, at the cost of cure time.
Features
- Full-length resin encapsulation gives high load transfer and protects the bar from corrosion at the same time.
- Resin cartridge speed is specified as fast or slow set, and it is chosen from the required face cycle.
- Spinning time and spin speed have to be controlled; under-spun resin does not mix and the bolt is unbonded.
- Cure time before the bolt carries design load is a real constraint on face advance and has to be in the cycle plan.
- Bar diameter, thread form and plate combination are specified together as a system, not item by item.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bar diameter | 20 / 22 / 25 | mm | Sets the load capacity and required hole diameter. |
| Bolt length | 1,8 - 6,0 | m | Set from the support design's anchorage depth. |
| Resin set speed | fast / slow | Has to suit the face cycle and the spinning time available. | |
| Required hole diameter | 32 - 45 | mm | Annulus has to suit the resin cartridge for proper mixing. |
