Swivels and Pulling Heads
Rated swivels that separate the rotating string from the product pipe, plus pulling heads, grips and breakaway links. Every item is rated to a load and has to be selected against it.
Features
- The swivel stops rotation being transmitted into the product pipe during pull-back, which would otherwise twist and damage it.
- Swivel rated capacity has to exceed the estimated pull-back load with a margin, and the rating is stamped rather than assumed.
- Pulling heads and grips are specific to the pipe material - fused thermoplastic, steel or ductile iron each need a different head.
- Breakaway links limit the load applied to the pipe by parting at a defined force, which protects the pipe rather than the rig.
- Every load-bearing item in the pull-back string needs a documented rating and an inspection record.
