System Flushing and Oil Cleanliness

High-velocity flushing of circuits and pipework after a component failure or a new installation, with sampling before and after against a target cleanliness code.

Features

  • Flushing is done at a velocity high enough to move debris rather than merely circulate oil, which usually means a dedicated rig rather than the machine's own pump.
  • Hoses, coolers and cylinders that trap debris are isolated or flushed separately, because a loop that misses them leaves the problem in place.
  • Sampling before and after gives a cleanliness figure that can be put on a report and compared with the target.
  • New pipework and new installations are flushed before commissioning, since mill scale and weld spatter come as standard with new steel.
  • After a catastrophic pump failure, flushing is not optional; replacing the pump alone repeats the failure at the owner's cost.

Specifications

Figure Typical range Unit Why it matters
System volume 150 - 5 000 l sets rig size, oil volume and time required
Flushing velocity achieved 3 - 6 m/s below this debris is not lifted out of the pipework
Oil charged on completion 180 l recorded for the oil programme and the invoice
