External Form Vibrators
Vibrators bolted or clamped to formwork and moulds, transmitting energy through the shutter. Standard in precast production and used in situ where reinforcement leaves no room for a poker.
Features
- Energy passes through the formwork, so the formwork has to be stiff enough to transmit it without flexing.
- Unit positioning and spacing on the shutter are a design exercise; badly placed units leave honeycombing in predictable places.
- Adjustable eccentric weights let amplitude be tuned to the element and the mix rather than fixed at purchase.
- Electric units allow group switching and sequencing from a control panel; pneumatic units suit wet and enclosed environments.
- Mounting brackets have to be welded or bolted to a designed pad on the shutter, not clamped to a stiffener.
