Hydraulic and Transmission Filters
Pressure line, return line, suction and case drain elements plus transmission and final drive filters, with tank breathers and filler strainers.
Features
- Element position decides construction: pressure elements are built for high differential, return elements are not, and swapping them collapses media.
- The cleanliness target for a circuit is set by its most sensitive component, usually a servo valve or a piston pump.
- Clogging indicators and differential pressure switches allow condition-based changes, which matters because hydraulic elements are expensive to change on schedule alone.
- Tank breathers are part of the filtration system: unfiltered air drawn in overnight puts dust and moisture straight into the oil.
- After a pump failure the circuit is flushed and elements are changed twice, because debris keeps circulating past the first change.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Circuit position | pressure / return / suction / case drain | Sets pressure rating and construction. | |
| Filtration rating | 5 / 10 / 20 | µm | Cleanliness target for the circuit. |
| Collapse pressure | 10 / 21 / 210 | bar | Element must survive the differential at that position. |
| Flow rate | 40 - 400 | l/min | Restriction at working flow. |
| Bypass setting | 1.7 / 3.5 | bar | Protects the element during cold start. |
