Features
- Regrinding restores button shape before the carbide wears flat, which is what actually extends bit life.
- Grinding by metres drilled rather than by penetration loss gets more life from each bit and prevents button breakage.
- Grinding cup profile must match button diameter and shape, or the reground button is left with an uneven load face.
- Water or air cooling during grinding prevents heat cracking of the carbide and of the bit body.
- Underground and surface grinders differ in power supply and guarding, so the workshop position decides the model.
