Features
- Wireline systems retrieve the inner tube on a cable without pulling the rod string, which is why they dominate deep core drilling.
- Conventional core drilling pulls the whole string for each run and stays practical at shallow depth and on small programmes.
- Reverse circulation returns sample up the inner tube, which keeps contamination low and suits grade control drilling.
- Core size fixes bit, reaming shell, barrel, rod and casing together, so a programme is specified by size series rather than by part.
- Diamond bit matrix hardness is selected by rock competence, and the wrong matrix either polishes or wears away within a few metres.
