Irrigation & Transfer Pumps

Petrol self-priming transfer pump

A light petrol pump for filling tanks and bowsers, emptying ponds and washdown. Bought for portability and price, not for continuous duty.

Features

  • Light enough for one person to carry, which is the whole reason it exists — an equivalent diesel set weighs roughly double.
  • An aluminium casing keeps weight down and wears faster than cast iron in silty water.
  • Petrol fuel costs more per hour than diesel, so the economics reverse once annual run hours get high.
  • Recoil start and no battery means nothing to go flat between uses, which suits equipment used a few times a month.
  • Suction and delivery hose, strainer and footvalve are normally bought with the pump and are what actually decide its performance.
