Pneumatic Tyre Rollers
Multi-wheel rubber-tyred rollers for the intermediate pass on asphalt and for sealing granular surfaces. The kneading action closes surface voids in a way a steel drum does not.
Features
- Overlapping tyre tracks leave no unrolled strip, so one pass covers the full working width.
- Tyre inflation pressure is a working control, not a maintenance item: raising it increases contact pressure and shrinks the footprint.
- Ballast compartments allow operating weight to be set for the layer instead of being fixed at purchase.
- Tyre skirts and heating keep the tyres warm so bitumen does not pick up at the start of a shift.
- The kneading action improves surface sealing, which is the reason the machine sits between breakdown and finish rolling.
