Polyurethane and Hybrid Panels
Cast polyurethane screen panels and wire-reinforced hybrid panels that combine polyurethane bodies with wire or steel elements, for fine and wet screening.
Features
- Polyurethane holds aperture accuracy as it wears, which keeps the product specification stable across the panel's life.
- Wet and abrasive slurry duty suits polyurethane better than rubber, and fine apertures can be cast more precisely than they can be woven.
- Hybrid panels put wire in the wear line and polyurethane in the body, lifting open area without losing life.
- Polyurethane is degraded by hot feed and by hydrocarbon contamination, so feed temperature and oil content are checked before it is specified.
- Panel hardness is chosen by duty: softer compounds flex and shed sticky material, harder compounds resist abrasion.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aperture | 0.5 - 40 | mm | Fine cuts are the usual reason to choose polyurethane. |
| Panel thickness | 25 / 30 / 45 | mm | Wear depth available. |
| Hardness | 75 - 95 | Shore A | Sticky feed against abrasion. |
| Construction | cast polyurethane / wire hybrid | Open area against life. | |
| Maximum feed temperature | as stated for the compound | °C | Hot feed shortens polyurethane life sharply. |
