Woven Wire and Harp Screen Media
Woven wire cloth, ripple weave and harp panels made to deck size with hooked or flat edges. Wire is high-carbon spring steel or manganese depending on duty.
Features
- Square and rectangular apertures behave differently: rectangular slots pass elongated particles more readily and raise throughput at the same nominal cut.
- Ripple weave adds wire length in the crimp, which lifts life in abrasive feed at some cost in aperture accuracy.
- Harp panels carry wires in one direction only, so damp sand and clay slide through instead of pegging in the mesh.
- Hook edges are formed to the deck's tension rail angle; the wrong hook angle leaves the cloth slack and it fails at the crimp.
- Cloth tension is re-checked after the first hours of running, because a slack panel wears from vibration rather than from material.
