Features
- A weeping water pump seal is usually the first sign of bearing wear, and replacing the seal alone rarely lasts.
- Pumps are supplied complete or as repair kits with seal, bearing and impeller, depending on housing condition.
- Oil pump clearances are measured on assembly, because a worn pump shows low pressure only when the oil is hot.
- Thermostat opening temperature is part of the engine specification, and a different rating changes emissions and fuel consumption.
- Oil cooler cores are pressure tested when a pump is replaced after a bearing failure, since debris collects in the cooler.
