Bearings, Bushings and Thrust Washers
Main bearings, big end bearings, camshaft bushings and thrust washers in standard and undersize dimensions for reground crankshafts.
Features
- Undersizes exist because regrinding a crankshaft is usually cheaper than replacing it, and the shell must then match the ground journal.
- Journal diameter, taper and ovality are measured before bearings are ordered, not after.
- Thrust washer thickness controls crankshaft end float, which is set with a dial gauge on assembly.
- Shell material is chosen for load and for oil cleanliness: softer overlays tolerate debris better but carry less load.
- Shells are fitted dry in the housing and oiled only on the running face, because oil behind the shell changes crush.
