Fuel Injection Components

Injectors, nozzles, injection pumps, unit pumps, high-pressure lines, rails and lift pumps for mechanical and electronically controlled diesel engines.

Features

  • Injectors are tested on a bench for opening pressure and spray pattern rather than judged from engine symptoms.
  • Common rail systems demand clean fuel and correct secondary filtration, and repeat injector failures usually trace back to water or filtration.
  • Some electronically controlled injectors carry a calibration code that must be written to the control unit after fitting.
  • High-pressure lines are not reused on common rail systems, because the sealing cone deforms on first tightening.
  • Exchange and remanufactured units are available where a full new injector set is out of proportion to the machine's remaining hours.

Specifications

Figure Typical range Unit Why it matters
Injection system mechanical / unit injector / common rail Determines part family and handling.
Rail pressure 1 200 - 2 000 bar Filtration and line requirements.
Nozzle code as marked on the existing nozzle Spray pattern must match the combustion chamber.
Supply form new / remanufactured exchange Cost against remaining machine life.
Calibration code required yes / no Decides whether a diagnostic session is needed on fitting.
