Recoil Springs and Track Adjusters
Recoil spring assemblies and grease or hydraulic track adjusters that hold chain tension and absorb impact at the front idler. Supplied as complete tensioner units or as individual springs.
Features
- A spring that has lost free length or taken a set no longer absorbs impact, and the shock then reaches the idler, front rollers and chain joints.
- Free length, coil outside diameter and wire diameter identify the spring; the machine model alone is not enough on rebuilt frames.
- Grease adjusters are simpler and cheaper; hydraulic adjusters hold tension more consistently on high-hour machines.
- Chain sag between carrier roller and chain is checked after fitting, because over-tensioning raises bushing and sprocket wear.
- Adjuster cylinders, seals and grease valves are available separately where the spring itself is serviceable.
