Cylinder Heads, Liners and Piston Kits
Heads, liners, pistons, rings and bearing shells supplied individually or as top-end and major overhaul kits against the engine serial number.
Features
- Kits group the parts replaced together, which is how an overhaul is actually planned and costed.
- Liner and piston are matched as a set; mixing a new piston with a worn liner wastes both.
- Reconditioned heads are an option where lead time matters, provided the pressure test and valve seat work are documented.
- Bearing shells are supplied in the sizes the crank has been ground to, so the crankshaft's history has to come with the order.
- Wet-liner engines need the coolant inhibitor condition checked at the same time, because cavitation pitting will otherwise start again on the new liners.
Specifications
| Figure | Typical range | Unit | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kit level | top end / major | defines the scope of the overhaul being planned | |
| Liner type | wet / dry | changes the coolant requirement and the fitting method | |
| Bearing size | standard / 0.25 under | mm | has to match what the crankshaft was ground to |
| Cylinders covered | 6 | avoids a part-complete order |
