Features
- Independent starting means, fuel supply and cooling, so that failure of the main system does not prevent the set from running.
- Automatic start on loss of main supply, with the changeover arrangement and its timing forming part of the survey.
- Located and protected so that the compartment it serves remains usable in the conditions the set exists for.
- Tested under load on a schedule, and the test record is part of the vessel's documentation rather than an internal note.
- Battery condition and charger arrangement are the most common findings at survey, and both are specified with the set.
