Crushing Equipment

Vertical Shaft Impactors

Shaping crushers that accelerate feed against anvils or against itself to correct particle shape and produce manufactured sand. Used to fix flakiness, not to achieve reduction.

Features

  • Rock-on-anvil configuration gives more reduction and shaping; rock-on-rock gives less wear cost and a slightly coarser product.
  • Tip speed is the main control: raising it improves shape and fines production and increases wear proportionally.
  • Cascade feed, bypassing part of the feed around the rotor, adjusts the fines-to-shape balance without changing tip speed.
  • Used as a tertiary or quaternary machine, so feed has to be tightly graded before it enters.
  • Wear parts are the dominant running cost, and they are specified against feed abrasiveness rather than throughput.

Specifications

Figure Typical range Unit Why it matters
Maximum feed size 35 - 60 mm Feed has to be tightly graded; oversize damages the rotor.
Rotor tip speed 45 - 80 m/s Main control on product shape and fines generation.
Configuration rock-on-rock / rock-on-anvil Trades wear cost against reduction and shaping.
Throughput 60 - 350 t/h Depends heavily on cascade split and target product.
