Woven Wire Screen Media
Tensioned woven wire cloth in square, rectangular and ripple weaves. The highest open area available, which is why it remains the default for dry sizing at capacity.
Features
- High-carbon spring steel is standard; stainless is specified where corrosion, not abrasion, is the limit.
- Square weave gives the most accurate cut; long-slot weave gives more capacity per square metre at some loss of accuracy.
- Ripple and piano-wire weaves reduce pegging by preventing near-size particles seating squarely in the aperture.
- Hook strips, tension and correctly set bucker bars decide the life of the cloth as much as the wire diameter does.
- Wire is the cheapest media bought and usually the most expensive per tonne screened on abrasive feed.
