Open Gear and Wire Rope Lubricant
Adhesive compounds for exposed gear sets, girth gears, chains and wire ropes on cranes, draglines, mills and winch installations.
Features
- Adhesion is the main property, because an open gear or a rope has nothing to retain the lubricant except its own tack.
- Rope lubricants need to penetrate to the core where corrosion and internal wear actually start, and surface coating alone is not enough.
- Applied by brush, spray or automatic applicator, and the method changes the product viscosity required.
- Solvent-containing types penetrate then thicken, and their handling and ventilation requirements come with them.
- Interval and coverage are usually set by inspection findings on the rope or gear face rather than by hours.
Specifications
